This former warehouse is centrally located in the Kuiperstraat, in the shopping center of Punda Curacao, in the heart of Willemstad. The building is, due to the good infrastructure and central location, easy to reach. The neighborhood is lively with several shops and office buildings in the vicinity.
The building used to be mainly used as a warehouse and previously consisted of a large open space (the storage place) and a separate toilet room. The current owner has converted the building into two identical one-bedroom apartments. These apartments are both equipped with a spacious living room, simple kitchen and bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
The final destination of this multifunctional building is still completely open. It can be ideally converted as a hotel, office space, or multiple apartments. A building permit for the creation of six apartments and the construction of two additional floors has already been applied for and granted.
The main entrance consists of two braided iron doors. The floor is completely covered with ceramic floor tiles. The building is also equipped with electricity, telephone, and water connections and there are several air-conditioning units. Ample parking is available in the vicinity.
Punda, "the point" is the oldest part of Willemstad and a unique mixture of Caribbean and Dutch influences. Centuries of Dutch rule, trade and commerce come alive when you pass through the streets of Punda. The heart of the town is formed by broad shopping streets, a few town squares and a great number of small narrow streets. The pastel colors and colonial bujildings will give you the true tropical feeling you won't find anywhere else. Therefore in 1997 the United Nations Organization decided to place great parts of the center of Willemstad on the Unesco World Heritage list.
